Digital Image Retouching Gallery

Originally, this was a nice, clear, black and white photo - though it was small in size. It was digitally "hand colored" to match the coat color seen in other color photos of the same horse. To make the image more dramatic, warm colors were used to produce a rather antique, almost folk art effect.

The background was custom created to achieve the desired result... right down to the grass. The stud chain that ran along the horse's face and through the mouth was carefully removed, as it was distracting and somewhat unrealistic in a "solo" pose.

This image was used on the stallion's web site, as well as print media, and is one of our personal favorites.
