Though the original photo was out of focus and the original color scan left the horse's features difficult to distinguish, it was not without merit. The background was eliminated and the colors were enhanced to create a flattering and dramatic "fantasy" effect, as this pretty black stallion took his place in the clouds for a magazine ad concept requested by the client.

The clouds were custom created from multiple transparency layers. Other elements, including additional horses and text, were added in the final ad composition before printing.
