</div>
<div class="tbanner">
</div>
Equine Web Design used a "made up" style class name called .tbanner, which set the layout and colors for advertising banners placed near the top of the page throughout its web site. Even though Old Time Fox Trotters has no banners to be found in the same location within the layout of their web site, the code <div class="tbanner"> remained in the same place within its HTML due to using Equine Web Design's layout and code as a template for its own.
That, by the way, is definitely not a coincidence.
"hmenu" Over And Over Again
Equine Web Design used another "made up" style class name called .hmenu, which dictated the layout of the top horizontal menu throughout its web site. This immediately followed the .tbanner class (above).
<div class="hmenu" style="text-align: right"><a name="topofpage"></a>
<a href="equine_web_design/" target="_top" class="hmenu" title="equine web site design information">design</a>
<a href="stallions/" target="_top" class="hmenu" title="stallion listings">stallions</a>
<a href="client_pages/" target="_top" class="hmenu" title="ranch listings">ranches</a>
<a href="news/" target="_top" class="hmenu" title="equine web design news">news</a>
<a href="links/" target="_top" class="hmenu" title="links to other web sites">links</a>
<a href="contact_us/index.html" target="_top" class="hmenu" title="contact us">contact</a>
<a href="http://www.equinewebdesign.com/" target="_top" class="hmenu" title="home">home</a>
</div>
</div>
</td></tr>
<tr><td>
As you can see below, Old Time Fox Trotters used it in the same manner and in the same order within its HTML code, absolutely consistent with the original code published by Equine Web Design. This even included using the link target of <a name="topofpage"></a> in precisely the same order within the code.
<div class="hmenu" style="text-align: right;"><a name="topofpage"></a>
<a href="mares.htm" target="_top" class="hmenu" title="Mares">Mares
:: </a><a href="foals.htm" target="_top" class="hmenu" title="Stallions">Stallions
:: </a><a href="horsesforsale.htm" target="_top" class="hmenu" title="Horses for Sale">Horses
for Sale ::</a><a href="mailto:foxvangen@yahoo.com" target="_top" class="hmenu" title="Contact Us">
Contact :: </a><a href="http://www.oldtimefoxtrotters.com" target="_top" class="hmenu" title="Home">Home</a>
</div>
</div>
</tr>
<tr><td>
Coincidence? Not at this point. The "made up" style class names are the same, and, most importantly, the order they appear within the body of HTML is the identical. Only the pages linked from the menu differ, because each web site linked to its own unique pages within its web site.
What are the chances two designers working independently would "make up" the same style class names and use them identically within virtually identical HTML code? Answer: none.
It comes as no surprise, as the web dee signer for Old Time Fox Trotters, Caprine Designs, already used Equine Web Design's HTML and
style classes in a previous effort.
Consistency Is The Key
Following the HTML block of code that included numerous uses of "hmenu",
the Old Time Fox Trotters web site remains faithful to Equine Web Design's layout. The left menus, once more, are the same.
Go to the next page to compare HTML markup as it pertains to
the left menu area.
