Selling Horses Online
With thousands of online listings as your competition, it's the small details that count. Your want your ads to not only look attractive; they also need to deliver the information buyers are looking for.
So, You Have a Horse to Sell?
Well, I hate to burst your bubble, but you aren't alone. There are thousands and thousands of horses listed for sale online at any given time. You'll find all breeds, all colors, all disciplines, and all price ranges. Unless you effectively communicate what you are offering to the public is "better" in some way, your horse may be passed over again and again.
Today's online shoppers have evolved into a better-educated crowd than some four or five years ago. The sheer volume of choices and the numerous forums to shop have made for a lean, mean, consumer. Photos are instant, videos are easy to obtain, and communication is as easy as dropping an email.
Online selling allows prospective buyers to shop at their leisure with near-total anonymity until, if and when, that viewer decides to call or email for more information. Often, several email exchanges may pass with very little offered in the way of personal information on the part of the interested party. When it comes to online horse selling, the buyer is most assuredly in the driver's seat.
What does it take to interest someone beyond casually viewing your "horse for sale" ad? A description, photo, and price of a sales horse are the three elements immediately available to prospective buyers. As a seller, your advertisement must put this information in front of the buyer in the most attractive way possible.
